Meet Frank Deckert, HR Manager

Frank Deckert, HR Manager at Solero Malente, brings over 20 years of experience in human resources, with the past six years dedicated to shaping Solero’s HR strategy. He thrives on the variety HR offers, from supporting employee growth to fostering a positive company culture. Outside of work, Frank, a former triathlete, is reconnecting with his passion for cycling and running. His workouts are essential for keeping a fresh perspective on work and maintaining balance in both his professional and personal life.

First things first, Frank—why should people join Solero Malente?

“Malente is a fantastic place to work, with a small but dedicated team that always has each other’s backs. We offer competitive pay, strong connections, and a variety of wellbeing initiatives. The area is ideal for young families, with charming towns and plenty of outdoor activities. At Solero, we focus on creating a supportive and connected environment where everyone feels valued. It’s not just about the job—it’s about fostering lasting relationships and personal growth. Whether you’re looking for a place to thrive professionally or seeking a community-oriented atmosphere, Solero offers the best of both worlds.”

How does Solero support work-life balance, and what about the benefits?

“We truly value work-life balance and make sure it’s a priority. Along with competitive pay, we offer flexible working hours to accommodate personal needs. Our JobRad e-bike program is a popular perk, encouraging a healthy, eco-friendly commute. We also provide gym memberships and wellness programs because we want our employees to feel their best, both physically and mentally. Supporting employees holistically—inside and out—is key to how we work here.”

You work from home most of the time, but you also spend a day each week in production. Why is that important?

“Yes, I work remotely, but I believe it’s crucial to stay connected with the team on the ground. One day a week, I spend time in production to hear firsthand what’s on the minds of our people. It helps me stay in tune with their needs and ensure they get the support they deserve. It’s all about staying motivated, feeling connected, and continuously improving.”

How about diversity at Malente?

“We’re a diverse and collaborative team, with people from various backgrounds and cultures, both from within Germany and internationally. We’re mindful of these differences and make an effort to understand and support each individual’s unique needs. Everyone is approachable, and there’s a strong sense of camaraderie. As a small team, we all wear multiple hats and support one another, whether it’s problem-solving, brainstorming ideas, or lending a hand. Many of our employees have been with us for 20, 30, even 50 years!”
