With over 25 years in the automotive industry, Andra Boboc leads Solero’s Sibiu plant with expertise in production management and process optimization. A firm believer in innovation and operational excellence, she’s committed to delivering top-tier results. Outside of work, Andra enjoys Sibiu’s vibrant, cultural scene and time with her family.
Can you tell us about Sibiu’s role within Solero?
“Our journey began in 1998 under the Kuhnke name, a German family business, and we’ve grown steadily ever since. We focus on efficiency, quality, and innovation, ensuring every product meets the highest standards.
Our plant plays a key role in Solero’s global strategy, from cost efficiency and supply chain optimization to sustainability. Whether delivering valves, actuators, or transmission solenoids, we support Solero’s competitive edge in the automotive industry.
What makes me especially proud is our team’s dedication. Everyone here understands how their efforts contribute to the bigger picture, driving better performance and customer satisfaction.”
What are Sibiu’s areas of expertise?
“Our expertise lies in adaptive suspension valves, actuators, and transmission solenoids—solutions that address critical challenges in the automotive industry. Adaptive suspension systems improve ride comfort and handling by adjusting to road conditions in real-time.
Our transmission solenoids ensure precise fluid flow control for smoother, more efficient gear shifts. We’re also advancing in plastic molding and overmolding, offering versatile, tailored solutions to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
Operational excellence is at the core of what we do. By streamlining processes, reducing waste, and fostering continuous improvement, we deliver reliable, high-quality products with agility and efficiency.”

What does teamwork look like at Sibiu?
“Teamwork here is built on open communication and shared goals. Regular cross-department meetings and improvement initiatives give everyone a voice.
Outside of work, events like our annual Christmas party strengthen team bonds. These traditions foster camaraderie, which translates into better collaboration and a more supportive work environment.”
How does your plant connect with or support the local area?
“We proudly partner with the ALL IN for Our Community (Totul pentru Comunitate) association to support local educational initiatives. We also sponsor CSU Sibiu, the local basketball team. Our employees participate in events like the Sibiu International Marathon and the Sponsor’s Cycling Competition tied to the Sibiu Cycling Tour. These connections keep us rooted in the community.”
What’s next for the Sibiu plant?
“We’re working on exciting growth opportunities that will enhance our capabilities and solidify our market position. While I can’t share details yet, I’m confident these projects will drive continued success. It’s an exciting time for Sibiu.”
