Working principle
Precise height measurement for optimal suspension control
The Active Angular Sensor operates by detecting the precise rotational movement of a vehicle’s suspension components, converting mechanical motion into an electrical signal for real-time chassis level control.
A linkage lever, optionally equipped with an additional linkage, is connected to the vehicle’s suspension system. As the vehicle’s height changes due to load shifts, road conditions, or active suspension adjustments, the sensor continuously measures the angle of rotation from 0 to 360°. This data is then transmitted to the control unit, which processes it to regulate the air suspension system accordingly.
The sensor’s electrical output signal is proportional to the detected angle, ensuring highly accurate height measurement and suspension adjustments. Its robust design allows for installation in exposed areas of the vehicle frame, maintaining precision regardless of ambient temperature fluctuations or harsh operating conditions.
In commercial vehicles like trucks and buses, this technology enhances ride comfort and safety by enabling automatic leveling and features such as unilateral lowering for easier boarding.
